The purpose of the laboratory is to link the gap between the supply side operation and inventory management and the demand-side pricing and marketing mechanisms.
Areas of research interest:
- Inventory & purchase management: replenishment, procurement, outsourcing, vendor selection & evaluation.
- Joint production/inventory and marketing decisions in manufacturer-retailer channels.
- Channel coordination in supply chains, including vendor managed inventory (VMI), buy-back & return policy, quantity discount, advanced booking discount (ABD), rebate, slotting allowance, consignment, revenue sharing, and joint replenishment program (JRP).
- Revenue management & pricing.
- Green supply chain, reverse logistics & closed-loop supply chain management.
