Laboratory Introduction

The purpose of establishing this laboratory is to cultivate advanced knowledge and skills in probability, statistics, and operations research for students in the Industrial Management program, integrating the application of information technology to conduct research on business decision-making and risk analysis.
One of the research directions focuses on the analysis of integrated stochastic decision problems, emphasizing how to combine existing models and establish interconnections among them to enhance model accuracy.
Another direction involves the study of numerical and Monte Carlo simulation algorithms, such as Laplace inversion and simulation output algorithms. Through this research, we aim to improve deficiencies in current algorithms to solve integrated decision-making problems more efficiently and accurately.
In terms of information technology application, the lab uses JMSL (Java Mathematical and Statistical Library) as the primary implementation tool. By leveraging Java and JMSL, the lab connects with ERP systems. This not only realizes the practical implementation of integrated decision models but also strengthens their real-time capabilities and practical value through ERP system integration.

Main Areas:

  • Monte Carlo Simulation
  • Operations Research
  • Applications of Probability and Statistics
